The Deputy Rector for Research, Dr. Mohamud Ahmed Emara, the the Faculty of Law’s Administration, and a selected cohort of Law students participated in the 1st National Justice Forum of Somalia 2025, hosted by the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs at Jazira Hotel, Mogadishu, over a two-day period.
This landmark national forum—held for the first time—was convened under the theme “Inclusive Justice” and brought together senior policymakers, legal scholars, practitioners, and academic institutions to deliberate on:
- The overall state and performance of Somalia’s justice and judicial sectors,
- The key structural and operational challenges impeding access to sustainable justice, and
- Strategic pathways for strengthening justice institutions to ensure that every citizen benefits from a fair, independent, and credible justice system.
The participation of SIMAD University highlights the institution’s commitment to advancing legal scholarship, promoting evidence-based research, and supporting national efforts aimed at reforming and modernizing Somalia’s justice sector.
