The faculty of Law of SIMAD University was established in 2012 and tasked with the mission of providing legal education of the highest possible standard in quality to students in the First Cycle of studies meaning undergraduate consistent with the practice and promotion of Islamic principles and teachings in the legal profession and Somalia Educational formula utilized here at this university, The number of credit hours in the study plan for obtaining a bachelor’s degree in the Faculty of Law is 183 credit hours.
The faculty includes a selection of the best lecturers specialized in law from various scientific ranks. The faculty contains teaching halls, and equipped classes with modern teaching facilities, a library, Moot Court, the faculty pays special attention to scientific research and training for legal professionals.
The faculty has distinguished relations with various state institutions, including ministries, unions, associations, government agencies, international and local agencies and private sector companies Furthermore the faculty of law had a center called SIMAD LAW CLINIC CENTER for expanding the existing facilities which were initially intended for the moot-court, the special security issues as well as other challenges that Somalia is going through. While the Law Clinic is essential to the well-being of the department and for the betterment, the department was established to task the following functions Moot Court, Legal Research, and Legal Aid.
